About Project

NeFCoS is a multidisciplinary, longitudinal family cohort study designed to be one of its kind, informative research conducted in various geographical areas of Nepal. Our primary focus is understanding the multiple determinants of health conditions, particularly lung health in children. We continuously monitor the participants’ health subjects using questionnaires, objective measurement of health conditions, and collecting healthcare-based data. NeFCoS researchers follow the children prospectively as they develop from childhood to adolescence and adulthood to correctly identify the effects of different early life exposures on health and disease. We are looking for a candidates in different positions.

Field Coordinator – 1

Requirements:

  1. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  2. Proficiency in local languages and cultural understanding.
  3. Technical knowledge of research methodologies and tools (e.g., electronic data capture systems).
  4. Bachelor complete/master ongoing

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement field plans and schedules for data collection, participant follow-ups, and logistics.
  2. Coordinate with study investigators, team members, and local stakeholders to align field activities with research objectives and research protocol.
  3. Supervise the collection of both quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring quality and consistency.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with local communities and stakeholders to facilitate participant recruitment and retention.
  5. Handle field budget disbursement and expense reporting, ensuring financial accountability.

Data Enumerator -8

Requirements:

  1. Have sound communication skills
  2. Basic computer skills
  3. 10+2 completed / ongoing undergraduate

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the collection of various data from participants by visiting their homes as per the Nepal Family Cohort Study protocol.
  2. Entry of collected data to online databases.
  3. Strictly adhere the confidentiality procedures and policies when collecting, storing, and sharing data.

Lab Assistant – 1

Requirements:

  1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy and handling blood samples.
  2. Attention to Detail: Accurate labeling, documentation, and cold chain monitoring.
  3. Communication: Effective interaction with participants and team members.
  4. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle challenges such as equipment failure or transport delays.
  5. Qualification: At least diploma in Laboratory Techniques.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect blood samples from participants/patients using sterile techniques.
  2. Ensure proper labeling of collected samples with unique identifiers
  3. Explain the procedure to participants to ensure informed consent and compliance.
  4. Follow strict aseptic techniques to minimize the risk of infection. Use and dispose of needles, syringes, and other biohazardous materials according to safety protocols.
  5. Immediately store blood samples in appropriate conditions
  6. Pack samples in insulated containers with gel packs, dry ice, or other cooling agents for field-to-lab transfer.
  7. Follow ethical guidelines for handling human biological samples.

We are expecting long term commitment from the candidate. Minimum 2 years of commitment is desirable.

Training will be provided for all positions. All candidates will be working in collaboration with international and country Pls.
