NIRI is involved in capacity-building initiatives, including bioinformatics bootcamps for students and professionals, student and teacher training, and other workshops. We have been mentoring school-age students, undergraduate students, and working professionals. Our commitment is to transfer expertise, mentor, and make the next generation competent in their field. We collaborate with different local organizations and experts in our capacity-building activities and have completed the following activities.
Completed Activities
-Twenty-four participants over the world participated in the workshop.
-The workshop covered key areas, such as understanding grant funders, crafting compelling research questions, adapting proposal development, learning effective writing techniques, and formulating budgets.
-Five 90-minute sessions from Mar 2-30 was conducted.
-Trained 32 participants (undergraduate, graduate and PhD students and professionals) from multiple countries on bioinformatics
-Over 20 hours of hands-on sessions were conducted, where participants could explore various databases and tools to analyze genes of their interest.
- Partcipants presented their findings on gene of their interest at the end of the session
-Trained 19 participants (undergraduate and graduate students and medical professionals) from multiple countries on bioinformatics

-NIRI in collaboration with Lokopakar conducted the sessions named "Our Stories" via the interaction of NIRI members and the students.
-Mentored and counseled over 300 students of public schools of Dolpa, Khotang, Palpa, Kaski, Syangja, Surkhet, Kapilwastu, and Kathmandu
-Trained and staffed over 20 health data enumerators on comprehensive health check-ups including BP, BMI, Skinfold Thickness Test, Body Composition-Bioimpedence, Pulse Oximeter Test, Spirometry Test, Grip Strength Test and Urine Test.
-Trained and mentored 10 interns for the study on Cancer Epidemiology, Gall bladder cancer, nephropathology, lung cancer metstases, cerebral palsy etc.
