We kick-started the Senior Citizen Care (SCC) Research with a productive stakeholder meeting at the Lomanthang Rural Municipality Office on March 16, 2025. Dr. Hem R Dhakal, Director of the Department of Social Sciences, NIRI and Co-PI of the SCC Project, and Mr. Suraj Parajuli, Admin Officer, NIRI and Co-PI of the SCC Project, visited Lomanthang to facilitate the meeting. Engaging ward chairpersons, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), ward officials, and municipal representatives, we shared insights on research procedures, ethical approvals, upcoming training programs and role of different stakeholders in the research. An interactive Q&A session fostered meaningful dialogue. NIRI extends heartfelt thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions!

Further, questionnaires were pre tested with a few senior citizens.

This project is led by Dr. Tulasi Acharya, Director of Social Sciences at NIRI.

We are grateful to Kalasha Foundation, Switzerland for supporting this project.
